They killed Sean Booker
I could not believe
But the news story confirmed
My reason to grieve
Your face on a page
Of Newspaper Print
A 9/11 statistic
But with a New York twist
For in the remains
Of the World Trade
Your identity a thief did find
And Identity Theft the Thief did commit
But what he stole was not what he knew
For behind the I.D. was a Man of God
The Sean I knew,
The Preacher Man
A forgiver of the Thief
For the only Greater thing than Sean’s Great Smile
Was his capacity to love as a child
He delighted in the company of those he knew,
And I thank God that I was one.
