Prayer is a powerful thing. It can raise mountains. It can calm waters. It is something each of us can do when all else seems hopeless.
Prayer is what this website is all about. We have built it in memory of the thousands of people who lost their lives on Tuesday, September 11, 2001.
We feel that it is important to know something about the people we are praying for. The people who have fallen in this tragedy lived full lives and deserved to be remembered. You are not alone in your prayers and mourning.
From the Memorial Wall, You are invited to post memories, prayers, and words of encouragement on a special page created for each person.
During the past 3 years, thousands of people have visited the Memorial Wall at PrayersForPeace.org. Memories, Prayers, and Words of Encouragement have been posted on pages specifically for each person. Some are as simple as "I don't know you, but I'm praying for you." Other messages are intimate memories, written so you and I can better know these people.
With our emphasis on prayer, I'd like to share how some people are using this site to help them pray. Many have "adopted" one or more people and their families, whom they pray for every day. Others have decided to pray for one or two each day. At one per day, it will take these people almost eight years to pray for everybody. Most seem to pick one person to pray for, and leave a note to let their loved ones know that they are being prayed for.
Peace be with you.
This site is dedicated solely to prayers for and memories of the victims. We will not collect money.
