Today marks the 7th annivesary of the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks. Shortly after the attacks, I was given a blue metal bracelet to honor the brave who protected other Americans that day. My bracelet honors Chief Romito who was only a few years older than me. I've worn the bracelet almost every single day as a reminder to me how precious life is & how important it is to help others ... always. Rest in peace my friend.

I still think about you often, Jim. You were a hero, and Cathy, and Tony, and Bob. Christ Amoroso went up 4 times after he rescued a woman, his face burnt and bleeding. You were the only one that told me the straight story, even when you had to tell me you couldn't tell me the straight story at that moment.

You and those other people had more courage than a thousand people willing to die just to make others suffer. You wanted others to live, and you took the risk that you might not make it.
