I was saddened to see a familiar name on the 9/11 victim list: John Sammartino. I remember John from his days at GWU, when, in the summer of 1983, he shared a house with my then-boyfriend and three other housemates. John was one of the only guys in that house who was sociable and accepting. I am so sorry to hear that he is gone. I hope that his family will find peace and happiness again, in the wake of an irreplaceable loss.
