My dear dearest friend Jude:

Jude, you will always be my best friend. You were a close friend to me in everyway. We went to the movies together, we dined together, we shared things. I remember your little furry ear gloves cover you used to wear in winter to protect your ears from the cold. You were so funny. You called me almost every other day to tell a joke or two to me while I was here in Paris and I laugh so much. You protected me by giving me advice. You were the best friend I ever had. I keep your picture close to me, so I will feel you closer every day and night of my life. I love you so much and I will miss you forever. I still hear your voice in my ear. I am afraid to call your parents or your brothers one day in fear of not knowing what to say to them, except that I love you so.
I pray along with your family hand in hand for you to rest in peace. Please Jude, I know in my heart you can hear me. Stay close with us, because it is just a matter of time and we will join you. Only, you will always stay young and beautiful to me. God Bless you and your dearest family.

Dear Jude, You don't know me but I know you. A few months after the attacks, my school made up small business cards with names of the victims on them. I picked your name, Jude. I keep it in my money clip and I look at your name often. I think about you and what you might have felt that morning. I imagine how angry, scared and confused you must have felt. I'm sorry, Jude. I'm sorry your life had to be cut short. I pray for your soul to find peace. I pray for you to rest in eternal peace. I pray for your family and loved ones to find peace and meaning in all of this. I also pray for our enemies to find peace in their hearts. I pray for this senseless cycle of violence to end someday. Take good care, Jude. We will miss you here on earth.
