Captain Joseph Bright

To the Family of Battalion Chief Charles L Kasper,

I have been involved with a Memorial Stair Climb at the NY Chiefs Show near Syracuse NY. We all climb with one of the Brave 343 in our thoughts. I climbed this year with Chief Kasper. I will never forget this experience and will pay my respects to him every year. He will not be forgotten.

Respectfully,
Captain Joseph Bright

Jay Allen

To the family Battalion Chief Charles Kasper.... my name is Jay Allen. I'm a firefighter with the Castle Rock (Colorado) Fire Department. Castle Rock is located 30 miles south of Denver. I have been on the job for 7 years and was in the fire academy in September of 2001.

This year for the 9/11 anniversary 343 firefighters from all over the state of Colorado and Wyoming came together and climbed the Qwest building in Denver to pay our respects to the Bravest who died that day. The Qwest building is 55 stories tall and we climb it twice; to signify the 110 stories tall that the World Trade Center buildings once stood. We perform the climb with all of our bunker gear, breathing apparatus, and hose bundles to pay respect.

This was the forth annual Denver Metro 9/11 Memorial Stairclimb. However, this year was a little different. Each one of the 343 firefighters wore around their neck a picture, with a name, and rank of a firefighter who tragically died that day. I wore Chief Kasper around my neck while I climbed all 110 stories. I now keep his picture in my bunker gear locker and will climb with him each year on 9/11 to pay respects to him and everyone else who died that day.

I just wanted to share this with you, so that you know that people still think of Chief Kasper and the sacrifice he made.

Feel free to contact me if you wish to share any thoughts. Take care and God Bless.
