I met you during a school exchange in France. You came to France and we became friends. I just realized what happened to you.... This is a shock for me;

Erik, we never had the opportunity to meet. And that is a great loss for me. I understand you were very much like your father. That being the case, you must have been an exceptionally fine young man. It was my honor to know your family on your father's side. They were, they are, among the kindest and most gracious people I have know anyehere in the world. Nephew, it's really hard to take this step. Two years since we lost you, and it still hurts so much. Hurts to think of your father, my brother, hurting. But I bet you're proud of him, watching him keep on keeping-on, and continue to grow. You're with Grandma, I think. Do you have fun, watching us? It's good to think of all of you up there, on our support team. We need it.
