I too purchased a bracelet and it was only by coincidence that it was inscribed, Gerald T. Atwood, the same as my family name. Perhaps that is why it has meant so very much to me the 10 years since this tragedy. Thank you for running towards catastrophe as others run away and for saving so many lives. You, your family, and fellow 342 comrades are always in my heart and prayers. Thank you so very much.

Gerald is my cousin.
He is a wonderful, loving guy. I remember when I was little my family and I would go to Brooklyn to see all thë cousins for block parties and thanksgiving. I just wish that w could have done that more.

Light a candle to remind us
Light a candle to console us
A candle to light the way for hope.

Soon after Sept. 11 I,as did several others, ordered a memorial braclet. It had Gerald Atwoods name on it. I pray for his family nightly.I knew nothing of him untill i got the bracelet but have learned ablut him since..... I would love to speak to his crew on Ladder 21 and his family.I am a Firefighter/EMT and this bracelet and Gerald Atwood will always stay on my wrist and on my mind. Peace, love and prayers....

After Sept. 11th, my husband ordered some bracelets and dog tags imprinted with the names of fallen and missing firefighters and police officers. Since then I have worn a bracelet with Gerald Atwood's name on it. I didn't know anything about him until today when I read about him in a NY Times story. My heart goes out to his widow and their children. My Dad, a retired Boston firefighter, passed away on October 8, 2001, but he'd had a long life and got to see great-grandchildren. I'm so sorry that Mr. Atwood won't be able to do that. My prayers are with his family and the families of all the heroes of 9/11.
