Beloved Juan,

I met your dear mother today and I now understand the reason you brought us together. She's okay now. Words cannot express the love and inspiration you touched so many with. Rest in peace, son and teacher of the world.

Juan and I attended the same Junior High and High School, he was a year younger than me. We played on the same baseball team - the Cardinals - together on the same team in Escondido's Babe Ruth Little League. Although it has been at least ten years since I last saw him, I still have great respect for him and the memory of his leadership and intelligence. To his family, I want to say that he was greatly respected by his fellow students. God Bless You.
