I remember Richard growing up in Canarsie, he lived two houses down from me and my family. My brother Joey and he were good friends. We all spent many a summer evening playing outside, our parents sitting in chairs in front of our houses talking and watching us. I only just heard a few days ago when I was in Canarsie to show my children the neighborhood I grew up in and to attend my mother's funeral. Her name was Rose Scafide, she died last week at age 89. I am so sorry to hear about Richard and my deepest sympathy goes out to all of you. My prayers are for the family left behind, Richard is surely with the Lord right now.
