Dana Falkenberg

I never knew Dana but Dana and her sister Zoe are always in my mind. I wish I got the chance to meet you Dana!

I just read about Dana's funeral at Arlington National Cemetery. I have tears in my eyes. I am an active duty soldier. I am also a mother of a 3 year old girl. If soldiers die for their country, it is sad but it is something we volunteer to do to serve our country, to protect our children. Dana never volunteered for that. We were supposed to protect her. I cannot imagine her family's grief. The grief I have just thinking about my own child dying is overwhelming. I pray for Dana's family, for their peace. And I pray that we, as an Army and as a nation, are able to prevent such horror from ever facing our children again. God Bless You, Dana.

I now wear a silver bracelet which has an American flag on it and reads:

I never knew Dana or her family, but my heart reaches out to them. I will continue to wear this bracelet in memory of Dana and all of the other victoms of Sept. 11.
