Every year at this time I look for a website or memory book to say you are still missed very much.

Hi, I met Jamie's Dad the day after they had identified her remains....that's 10 years ago now & her Dad is long ago passed too. I remember him because he fought so hard against the cancer..I met his family...they probably don't remember me....I went to see him in ICU....his family came in I was holding his hand...I left when they came in....too much to bear for them to meet someone new. I think about you all the time...especially at this time of year...God bless you all & know someone you may remember having met remembers!

I was stationed with Jamie briefly in Bahrain and what I remember most about her, was her spark and her fearlessness. I wish I could have gotten to know her better in the short time we were stationed together.

I created a web page in remembrance of Jamie with all the information I could gather about her http://navy.togetherweserved.com/profile/168381

If you would like to contribute to the page, please let me know (kate.werteen@hotmail.com).

When dealing with the loss of a friend of a loved one, I have found the following poem seems to help me. I hope it helps all of you who knew Jamie, or have lost someone special.

The Rose Beyond The Garden Wall

A rose once grew where all could see,
sheltered beside a garden wall.
And, as the days passed swiftly by,
it spread its branches, straight and tall...

One day a beam of light shone through
a crevice that had opened wide~
The rose bent gently toward its warmth
then passed beyond to the other side...

Now, you who deeply feel its loss,
be comforted ~ the rose blooms there ~
Its beauty even greater now,
nurtured by God's own loving care

My name is Teresa, I'm Jamie's older sister. Jamie left behind a little boy named Kahleb, he turned 4 Feb 18. He is a spitting image of Jamie. He has her personality and fire and her temper. We have have our hands full. Thanks everyone for your kind words.

For Jamie and all the other brave souls who protect us from evil, God Bless you.
